NANS Sets Stage for Entrepreneurship Summit 2024: Empowering Students financially for a Brighter Future In Jos."
The National Association of Nigeria students (NANS ZONE C ) Holds its Entrepreneurship summit 2024. Theme “Building a sustainable business strategy for a long term goal”. In plateau state polytechnic.
The program, organised by comrade princess chinedi office of the Director of programs NANS North central and Major stakeholders of the National Association of the Nigeria students Association. brought together several students from different disciplines to learn from industry experts and mentors. The students participated in seminars, and networking sessions to gain insights into entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership.
The program covered topics such as idea generation, business planning, marketing, and financing. The students also had the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a panel of investors and received some feedback.
According to NANS Assistant Secretary General, Comrade Paul Gabriel from Nasarawa State University, highlighted a major challenge students face as entrepreneurs on university campuses, saying, "A lack of funds to start their businesses is a major obstacle.
Also, he inspires and encourages students to become job creators rather than job seekers. He believes that entrepreneurship is a key driver of economic growth and development, and he is committed to supporting young entrepreneurs in achieving their dreams.”
Precious Adanana, a 200-level student of Mass Communication in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Jos, who was one of the participants and beneficiaries of the summit, said: "The program has been an eye-opener for me. I learned that entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business, but about identifying problems and creating solutions. I am now more confident to pursue my passion and turn it into a successful business."
The program culminated in a presentation ceremony, where outstanding students received awards of 50,000 naira and 10,000 naira, respectively. Furthermore, the organisers announced their commitment to providing ongoing support and mentorship to the students, empowering them to excel in their entrepreneurial pursuits.
This initiative is a step in the right direction to promoting entrepreneurship and innovation among young people in Nigeria, and we look forward to seeing the impact these students will make in the business world.
